Situated in southern Indonesia, the island of Bali is the definition of an island paradise, where ancient temples sit atop dramatic cliffs, while waves lap against the beaches.

While it’s the perfect place for a relaxed beach break, the island also has loads of unique charm and character, whether it be the spectacular volcanoes you can find inland or the traditional rice paddies.

The great thing about Bali is that it caters to many different kinds of holidaymakers, whether it be young backpackers, families, surfers, or those looking to find themselves amongst the more spiritual aspects of Bali.

The golden sands of the coastline are one of the biggest attractions for visitors to Bali, where you can relax with a drink in your hand, or plunge into the Bali Sea and snorkel around the outlying islands, keep an eye out for dolphins off the shore, or maybe try your hand at surfing.

However, there is a whole other side to Bali, which is a highly spiritual country, with a strong Hindu culture.

It’s definitely worth touring some of the old temples if you visit Bali for a little bit of culture, and be sure to try some traditional Indonesian street food such as chicken and rice or babi guling, a traditional hog roast.

In terms of the weather, given its proximity to the equator, you won’t be surprised to hear that it’s warm all year-round in Bali, although there are monsoons from October to March which are worth avoiding.

Why Fly Business Class?

If you want to arrive in Bali in style, why not upgrade your flight to business class? It’s a long flight to Bali (around 18 hours depending on the route), so why not spend that little bit extra to make a bit more of a comfortable experience?

Business class passengers have their own seat which folds back into a bed, with extra legroom, as well as a gourmet food menu which is often put together by a celebrity chef.

You’ll also have access to a lounge and sometimes showers at either end of your journey so that you feel refreshed and ready to explore this beautiful island!

Popular Routes

Unfortunately, there are currently no direct routes from the UK to Bali, so you’ll have to make a change either elsewhere in South East Asia, or in the Middle East.

For example, you can catch flights via Doha with Qatar airways, via Dubai with Emirates, or Singapore with Singapore Airlines.

The average flight time depends on your route of course, but the flight generally takes around 17-18 hours.
